One of the founders of Urban.com.au. Transport, sci-fi, cities and general shitposting contained herein. I swear in English and French, a lot.
On my recent trip over to Cuzziebro-land, I couldn't help but think the new CRL is going to be tup top for getting up those f**ken hills/volcanoes from Britomart. Getting to cool places like this is going to be far easier.

Best way to change platforms at Flinders is back!

Only became obvious when seeing it for my own eyes every platform group has a PID in the underpass, but they are alternate which direction they’re facing.

They show next train grouped by line info/not individual service deets.

Did you know that Vic effectively nailed a housing completion target recently, according to 'the voice of the property industry'?

All the states that didn't hit a target got their own press release.

Sydney may have frequency and it may finally have the Mariyung trains but Sydney will never have the HCMT.

I struggle with the ‘why should the federal government have a cities strategy when the states have the planning power’ before anything else really.
The new National Urban Policy has finally been released after a year of drafting, consultations and workshops run by KPMG, the result is a completely anodyne, feel-good waste of paper.

Canadian media perhaps understandably off their choppers re: possible 25% tariffs youtu.be/4SVgMixtSYI
How would U.S. impose a 25 per cent tariff on Canadian goods?

Today I found out that #Finland runs 'Jail Coaches' on their regular Intercity trains. I've never seen this before! Does any other country do this? 🤔🇫🇮 #NonstopEurotrip

Thanks to inevitable stuck-behind-metro train, the slow speed affords you the opportunity to have a good look at Carnegie in this vid. The south (left) is dominated by 3, 4 and 5 level resi buildings with larger to the north. www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0H8...

V/line is in a tough spot when it comes to scheduling. By all accounts the fare cap is an insane success, but there aren't the resources to provide the needed capacity

Passengers should really expect to stand on suburban services, but when your country trains are serving urban areas, it's an issue
There was more to this tale - the train got far more crowded along the way. Expanded into a blog post: danielbowen.com/2024/11/18/v...
