This is a very good tweet, use it whenever you deal with the Musk cult. By claiming that 1 m of lunar regolith can stop all galactic cosmic rays, Musk showed not only that he is not a physicist but that he lacks the basic physical intuition inherent to all real physicists and engineers.

There is a certain kind of freedom that atoms have to jump around, and they seem to choose entirely on their own w/out any input from the outside, so in a certain sense atoms have free will, so that's, to my mind at least, it's probably connected with the fact that we have free will. —Freeman Dyson
Could Atomic Science Explain Free Will?
The sheer unpredictability of atoms exempts them from ordinary rules of causality. The brain may be a “clever device” that turns that freedom into freedom of action.

Asked ChatGPT to find the constellation a given point (RA,Dec) falls within.

It compared the point with the coordinate "spans" of constellations and simply placed it in an appropriate rectangle.

Needless to say, this approach is prone to mistake after mistake.

Any rational person can understand that the Steppe — with its sparse and armed-to-the-teeth nomadic demographics — could never have developed into a despotism.

NHL playoffs, division finals, my predictions:

🟥🟦 4:2 —
⬛️🟥 4:0 —I'll take the risk!
🟩🟦 4:2 —the overall favorite
🟨🟧 4:3 —50/50

PS. I was 5/8 in the first round, got let down by TBL, COL, and LAK.

Here’s a joke for you: “After a speech, Brezhnev confronts his speechwriter. "I asked for a 15-minute speech, but the one you gave me lasted 45 minutes!" The speechwriter replies: "I gave you three copies..."

Europe is much bigger than Russia in every relevant parameter – except one: the number of nuclear warheads. It can be changed within one year, literally.

Since sex is now defined by executive orders, I'm eagerly awaiting them to settle this pressing question too.
Is there a set that is a member of itself?

The statement ∃x[x∈x] is intuitively clear, but the answer depends on formalization. In Zermelo-Fraenkel system the answer is "no", in Quine NF – "yes", and in Russell simple theory of types the question itself is meaningless.

The much-hyped "Trump Peace Plan" turned out to be very simple: give everything to Russia. That's all. That's the whole plan.
February 20, 2025 at 8:34 PM
The next logical step is some sort of "Anti-Comintern Pact" between the US and Russia. After all, they both have a common enemy they hate and are hellbent to destroy – the liberal worldview. We'll see.

This is what I've long suspected, and it's been confirmed yet again: Trump is a beta. Certainly, he needs adoring sheeple, but above all, he craves approval and friendship from those he considers alphas – Musk, Kim, Putin.

☢️ Which non-nuclear-weapon state will be the first to develop its own nukes? The list is long but considering expertise and necessity I'd guess it will be one of Japan, Sweden, or Poland.
