Personal data sovereignty -- anonymisation and aggregation is not enough
Data that has been anonymised and aggregated it is often regarded as safe and outside privacy laws, but as todays news shows this is not the case, it can still violate personal data sovereignty.

Yikes, ACM tells porkies about DOIs! We just encountered this problem when verifying references for my upcoming AI for HCI book.

Finished 2025 Tiree Ultramarathon and the toughest weather yet, 50mph (80kph) winds at some points of the day and wind flung hail that stung every bit of exposed flesh. However the spirit of the day, as ever, was wonderful.

Last post about 65-for-65. Having now turned 65 I've written some reflections on the experience: 70 miles running in five days through spectacular Welsh mountains and valleys and over £1300 raised for @cancerresearchuk.org ‬ - thank you so much to all who contributed.

About to set out for Day 5, the last day. Five miles from Aberaeron to Llanarchaeron and back, but only a mile of that needed to reach 65 miles! Set to be heatwave today, but will be finished well before the heat of the day sets in.

Getting ready for Day 3 of 65-for-65. Shorter day, about 10 miles from Pontypridd to Llandaff, including popping up to Castell Coch, one of the small wonders of Wales. Short walk and train to get to start. Hoping to get finished before it is too hot!

Just getting ready to set off for day 2 of 65-for-65 now. Shorter run today about 14 miles Merthyr to Pontypridd.
A bit of a drive and then train journey to get to start, so my first tweet on @ alanwalkswales won't be for a couple of hours.

A day to go before my 65 for 65 run starts. Weather looks a bit miserable for Sunday (marathon over the mountains) I'll look just like the picture! After that much better. Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far, I've pushed target up to £1065.

In just over a week (6-10 July) I'm 65 miles leading up to my 65th birthday. I'm collecting for Cancer Research as cancer has touched several family and friends recently. The multi-day run starts with a marathon distance over the Brecon Beacons mountains.
