✍️ ‘It will be magical’: Gibraltar Women ready to rock in competitive debut 🇬🇮

Gibraltar will make history this afternoon as they face Moldova for their 1st ever competitive fixture.

I spoke to manager Scott Wiseman for Moving the Goalposts back in December: www.theguardian.com/football/202...

As the Women's Super League hits the winter break:

Chelsea’s six-point lead is the biggest gap between first and second at the break since the league restructured in 2017-18.

Chelsea’s 28 points after 10 games is the best tally ever by a team at this stage of a WSL campaign.

🇲🇳 The Chelsea Fan Club of Mongolia had a shorter trip to watch Chelsea take on Astana in Kazakhstan yesterday than the team themselves coming from London.

Ulan Bator ➡️ Pavlodar = 2,180km
London ➡️ Pavlodar = 5,046km

However, the Ulan Bator contingent went by road, a trip that took nearly four days!

Cole Palmer now has 50 goal involvements (33 goals, 17 assists) in 48 Premier League games for Chelsea; only Erling Haaland for Man City (39), Andy Cole for Newcastle (43), and Mo Salah for Liverpool (46) have ever reached 50 in fewer PL games for a club.🎯

“We’ve got our Chelsea back” sounded dangerously premature at St Mary’s, but nothing is more Chelsea than beating Tottenham on their own pitch - and bantering them off in the process.

🚨🗣️ Spoke with Ronaldo Nazário on Estêvão Willian. "He's a young player and very talented. He's kind of like Lamine Yamal. He will soon be a very big star in football. He's very promising, and at just 17. I think he'll play for Palmeiras at the Club World Cup then join Chelsea."

Cole Palmer is being fouled and man-marked much more, and hasn’t scored or assisted in his last three games.

It isn’t cause for concern, just a necessary obstacle for him, Maresca and Chelsea to overcome.

Heidenheim face Chelsea this week. A few years ago, that would have been a ridiculous prospect.

This is the story of the little club up the hill and the coach who dragged them up from the fifth tier of German football.
