It's also disappointing when you consider that Disney could have EASILY hired a lot of these creators, especially given how positive their track record was with the animated shows they did for Disney TVA, to fill the creative drought Pixar had for a while, and that now Disney Animation Studios has.
Why is it that animators who made a splash on television animation and then pitch movies to Sony Animation only to get cancelled? Because it's not just Matt Braly. Lauren Faust had Medusa in the works there. Got canned by Sony Animation. And Genndy Tartakovsky with Popeye, canned by Sony Animation.

I’m very disappointed to hear that Sony Pictures Animation has scrapped Matt Braly’s film. Honestly, I’m baffled they scrapped it thinking it “wasn’t commercial” given that’s what they sold KPop Demon Hunters to Netflix and that blew up big. I hope Matt gets to make a movie soon.
