On the whole, the NPC buddies didn't bother me too much, aside from Yappy McEngineer deciding to cosplay Navi from OoT. I liked Stoic Sniper, Samus Fan Girl, Grumpy Sergeant, and Bass Johnny 5.

On the one hand, I've messed up a few Steel Soul attempts before Lace 1 because I'm playing stupid, but on the other hand I'm getting more comfortable with the early routing through the Marrow for future attempts at the 5 hour clear achievement so... Win?

And that's a wrap on Silksong. I missed one optional duel in Act 2 but otherwise managed to see, do, and collect everything the game had to offer. Yes it was hard at times, but it never felt unfair to me. Just had to, as they say

High stress day, followed by an extremely chill finish to the Ultimate static's DSR reclears, and some more good Silksong progress. Hopefully can carry some of those vibes into the weekend.

It's been said by plenty of other people by now but goddamn is Silksong a huge game. I'm in Act 2, intentionally avoiding doing the main quest objectives to explore as much as I can and I just. Keep. Finding. Brand. New. Areas. I'm seriously impressed.

Oldest requested I put Kerbal Space Program on her computer and I happily agreed.
What she doesn't know is I also put Ship of Harkinian/2Ship on it so she can experience Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask... Once the controller comes in anyways. She's only ever played Breath/Tears.

And that's a wrap on Hollow Knight for now. Still a few side achievements to get, and haven't touched Steel Soul mode or Pantheon 5, but I'm happy to have made it this far! Time to focus on Silksong, at least until Metroid Prime 4 arrives (I didn't plan to play this many metroidvanias back to back!)

And then a Pantheon 4 clear once I got back to Pure Vessel! The extra practice really paid off. The Radiance is now the only thing standing between me and the 112% clear. Soon!

Productive workday, followed by upgrading my desktop to Fedora 43 and more Pure Vessel/Pantheon 4 practice. Being able to see the end of the tunnel makes up for the annoying head cold.

As a former Eagle Scout, the fact that the BSA has not publicly disavowed the current President's normal role as the honorary chair speaks volumes. The organization doesn't even seem to be trying to live up to the values it taught us, only reinforcing my decision to no longer have any part in it.

Beat the Pure Vessel, finally feel like the attack patterns are clicking. Now to practice it on Ascended before I start trying for Pantheon 4. One step closer to 112% though!

Finished Path of Pain, and it's name became more literal about an hour later when a couple of my finger joints decided they'd had enough and flared up. Guess I'll give them a rest before I go trying the last two Pantheons for 112% completion.

Working my way through the Path of Pain in Hollow Knight. Very accurate name, it's aggravating my arthritis. Won't stop me from finishing it tomorrow though.
