Yes! It's worth including, even if it is just one line in the story.
And a related note to researchers taking to journalists about your research: spend time talking about where your funding came from. If it was taxpayer-supported (NSF, NIH, etc.), talk about how public support made your work possible, and how the public will benefit from this work.
Note to health/science journalists: When describing any sort of research, now would be a good time to note that the research was possible, at least in part, by federal funding of science through the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, etc. report.nih.gov/funding/cate...
