Morning school ride on Fiido M1 Pro

I'm slowly converting to an EV rider
I still like the sound and smell of a motorcycle engine, but I have to agree that an e-bike could be a more practical ride for city commuting.

I think I built the perfect paywall.
5 users saw it and 13 converted

I will try to push it to 15 sales from 5 users, but I'm afraid I reached the limit there.

It could be a glitch in the RevenueCat experiment report, but for now, I will stick with the theory that I'm a genius.

New Paywall experiment released
Apple Store visited and iPhone collected

Great start of the day!

I answered all the questions you asked on Instagram about moving from Latvia to Thailand
Just published Q&A video: https://youtu.be/L0fJCgBNIxs

Tourist mode on.
Seems that Luka will need to get a guide dog certification to get into parks in Bangkok :)
I'm not sure why, but dogs are not allowed almost anywhere.
July 27, 2025 at 7:59 AM
In touristy parts of Bangkok you can get around with English only, in more local areas not so much.
I sucesfully ordered ramen, but failed to get 3 portions of sticky rice in market. Got 3kg instead.
I will need to learn Thai sooner than planned :)

RIX -> HEL -> BKK
Long-term goal achieved, working from a coffee shop in Thailand without a return ticket in pocket.
Now I need to get to those 100K+ monthly digits as other indies :)

Last week was busy.
We had to clean the apartment, move out, and visit all the favorite spots around.
And I got a horrible cold to make all of that even more tricky.

Also, I uploaded a video about where and why we are moving: https://youtu.be/rgeGFhB_mbk

Nope, still not getting that vertical monitor thing.
In other news, Luka doesn't mind sleeping in a heap of cables and gadgets.

Surprisingly, I can still code without internet and AI models.
It's the midsummer holiday weekend here in Latvia.
I'm on the seaside with almost no internet connection, but I still spent a few hours on indie apps.
Almost ready to ship the MVP for another AI identifier app. I wanted just one more

Hello, my name is Aivars, and I have ADHD
- I started the morning with a plan to watch a few WWDC sessions
- Played around with Apple AI models on lunch break
- On the evening, I launched the Vercel server for the OpenAI proxy and built a test app

Wait, what was the plan for today?

Cmon Apple!
Why could we get our hands on just-announced features?

Do we need macOS 26 to get the intelligence in Xcode, or is that "coming later next year" and we should stick with Cursor?
June 10, 2025 at 5:52 AM
I don't care much about AI in Xcode anymore. 3rd party tools are fine.
I hope to see an announcement for an on-device AI model for developers.
Like Siri, but working.

Hanging out on Kick tonight to watch the WWDC keynote, come over if you need company

Coding alone is fine.
Coding with a chill stream on? Way better 🙌

Great stream @aivarsmeijers.com 👌

Yesterday I released update for Focus Timer just to find an edge case bug for streak counting today in the morning 😅
The streak fix is waiting for release on TestFlight already.

This is often asked - how to get second boost for the app from Apple.
You can't, start promote you apps you lazy .. :)

"Secret" formula to make more money from your apps is easy
- every user should see your paywall
- it is ok to show paywall often
- yes, that's fine to ask to pay for the app or dismiss paywall

I do not do programming tutorial videos for two reasons:
- there already are pleaty great tutorial YouTube channels
- I'm horribly bad programmer

I'm just ex head of products who learned to code ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m looking for the next app idea.

Probably that will be something travel or sales related.
We are moving to another country soon, so I have to chose what to pack for a trip and what to sell.

While we are here, we hanging out in a favorite places.

Yes, I'm willingly "leaving money on the table" by ignoring Android platform
Even I'm thinking about Kotlin Multi Platform project, it is dumb idea and I should't do that.

Ai will not replace developers, but it is dumb to ignore it

Today I spent morning hours creating a new paywall and started to localise it.
Interesting that there is no Latvian language support in the RevenueCat paywall builder and on AppStore pages.
So I can localize the App itself, I did it, but the paywall and AppStore page will stay in English.

I analyzed last week's social media data to see what actually drives app downloads.

The results?
19% download growth,
and + 21% revenue

But the content type that drives downloads surprised me... 🧵👇

It is funny that last year's Apple Dev conference was all about AI, but I'm paying for Alex sidebar and Widsurf to bring AI to Xcode

Should I dump my tiny Apple stock already or we still have hope that Apple will canch up in AI game?
