A lot of artists, as they get older, tend toward technical proficiency to keep their minds fresh. But they do so b/c they stay w/i the same "box" they started.

My big fear is it's going to take around 100 years for us to fully stabilize and acclimate to the creation of social media/internet and AI.

This new year I've decided to start a tradition of reading a few different books annually from now on. (Among them: Moby-Dick, Absalom, Borges's Collected Fictions)

There are those who learn how a magic trick is done and appreciate the craft, the talent, or even the simplicity. Then there are those who learn how a magic trick is done and think the whole process is stupid, easy, or simple to pull off. These are 2 pathways of "getting older".

I'm still iffy on how seriously to take grammatical rules. The basics, sure--and I'll still do run-throughs looking for errors--but if it makes sense and the flow hits a sweet spot, I tend to argue for keeping the "error". The musicality beats out any adherence to more particular grammar rules.

The amount of repeat memes/vids I see on here makes me think it must be so easy to get likes/followers if I just gave up and reposted low-quality screenshots of low effort content like "guy pointing up at text" videos. Even pointing this out feels boring.
