Born in '74, stopped skating ~30 years. I wanted to create a casual skateboarding group for adults who want to learn, but prefer not to skate alone.

Heavy rains were forecasted to begin around Noon, which is when Veteran's Skate Park opens, so we decided to shoot for 9am at Brentwood, in the hopes of beating the rain.

We were able to beat the storm for a solid session before the rain came. We were also blessed to have Chad Caruso swing by for a bit to hang with the crew.

The weather was cool and very windy, which made for a mostly empty park. Additionally, many of the group members had met up for a long skate session on Saturday. As a result, attendance was very light, but it was still a great day!

It was a beautiful day, but it ended with me leaving behind a GoPro camera. Luckily, I got Sam rolling into the bowl for the first time. She wasn't hurt, but released a flood of emotion after conquering a fear she had been facing for a while. We're all so proud of her!

Once again, we had an amazing day with great weather, a packed skatepark, and a great crew of people. It ended up being warmer than expected, but we brought ample covering for the crew. I also dropped in and rolled into the bowl for the first time since breaking my leg.

I'm almost back!!! My PT won't be happy with me, but I had to see if I could still roll in and carve. I went slowly, but it felt great to be rolling again!

Jun 15 - broke leg (Father's Day)

We had another beautiful day, and had a few faces we haven't seen for a bit. This session saw Thomas, Richie, Stevie, Shawn, John, Ian, Dan K, Alex, and Tristan tearing up the bowl. Jenn showed up later in the day, and made some great progress on her comfort on a short board.

Our One Year Anniversary!

We had a great turnout, and lots of great progress made. Jim and Allison were continuing to push out of their comfort zone on the quarter pipe, Jenn returned after an injury, Courtney continued working on frontside carves/kickturns, and Mark landed his first ever feeble grind.

The morning started off with heavy rains but dried up just in time as Steven and Christine from Jersey City, and Robert from Rockland County arrived. Allison showed up a little later and carved the bowl for the first time ever, including front-side!

This week we had another new skater, along with the return of Walter, who really stepped up to help Sam and Allison on their rock to fakies. He also played a big part in getting Allison to lock in her roll-ins into the flow bowl!

It was yet another beautifully sunny day at Veteran's Skateboard Park. With multiple canopies setup, there was a decent amount of shade. Everyone continues to improve, with many significantly increasing their speed and control while carving.

This week saw blisteringly hot weather, with temperatures reaching 92°F (33.3°C), and little to no shade at the park. We also had the Long Beach Crew (really Hicksville) come through, along with the triumphant return of Alex who broke his leg this past March at Woodward.
