@afscme 1624 member B. Ray—an Austin Energy electrical supervisor—was hit hard by flooding in Liberty Hill on July 5. In minutes, 4ft of water took over his home. He, his wife, and kids were rescued, but his home suffered damage.

We visited him today—he’s ok, cleaning up, and in good spirits.

Austin city workers deserve better.

This tight budget year is made worse by state and federal cuts—like slashing over a third of Austin Public Health’s grant funding.

Last night, @afscme1624.bsky.social called for raises so staff can live where they serve. More town halls soon—stay tuned.

Trump’s “DESTROY ALL LABOR UNIONS” executive order from last night must be stopped, rescinded, and buried deep in the ground.

Even if a judge blocks it temporarily, we must not stop fighting it with full force until it is gone for good.

Stripping collective bargaining and union rights from workers across the federal government is the very definition of union busting — and a blatant attempt to silence us.

We will fight this outrageous attack on our members with every fiber of our collective being.
