Her voice is dawn
bereft of a birdsong.
Her body has never known
freedom since 26th
January 1986.
Hers is a violated map
with pencil drawn borders.
A parasitic marriage where
No change draws the battle
line.

My body is a note book
Curve slanted letters
Form them into phrases
and rhymes
Baby, use me
Scribble your

I learned to sleep with the
Lights on.
When I got older, I realized
that ghosts are not scary
But the people we embrace
And sometimes, love.

Lights on.
When I got older, I realized
that ghosts are not scary
But the people we embrace
And sometimes, love.
