Do you remember that terrible crisis that caused the President to have to take tariff powers away from Congress even though it's expressly given to them by the Constitution?

No? Neither do I. No one does. It doesn't exist. It never did.

Will Trump "roll out the red carpet" tomorrow for Zelensky?

Putin got pretty much everything he wanted on Friday.

No ceasefire.
No new sanctions.
The red carpet rolled out for him.
The prestige of meeting with the U.S. President in the U.S.

Trump, got nothing.

“If even a dozen Republicans in Congress had the capacity to stand up to Trump, this would be a very different ballgame. Trump and Musk and Stephen Miller could not do this alone. They’re doing it with the full cooperation of the majority party in Congress. We’re in a bad place.”

If you are unhappy with this oligarchy administration and their antidemocratic and illegal behavior, there is something you can personally do.

Spend less (or no) money with their businesses.

Hit the oligarchy where it hurts them the most.

In their pocketbook.

Trump is shaking down Zelenskyy and Ukraine for "protection money" without even offering them protection. Trump's not even a competent gangster

Great Britian is funding Ukrainian's defense with loans that will be paid back by Russia. Why isn't Trump looking to Russia to repay us and Ukraine for the death and destruction that they have caused? Sad, I think we know why.

They are not fighting inefficiency, waste and fraud. They are unilaterally destroying any agency that supports people or policies that they don't like. You know it, and they know it.

No Republican leader dare criticize anything that's being done, lest the emperor lop off their heads, the cowards.

Musk shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

If you're wondering why:

"The bureau has a database containing hundreds of complaints about his car company, Tesla. The agency also regulates digital payment platforms - something Musk is developing at X."

I'm wondering when those "checks and balances" we learned about in government class start kicking in?

"Critics say that America is a lie because its reality falls so short of its ideals. They are wrong. America is not a lie. It is a disappointment. But it can only be a disappointment because it is also a hope."

Maga folks worried EVs will put stress on the electric grid, but aren't concerned about AI data centers.

AI data centres have power demands of 100 MW or more. That's an annual electricity consumption equivalent to the demand of around 350,000 to 400,000 electric cars.

The book details the long history of (ill conceived) water policies and projects in the arid areas of the western U S. that have set the stage for the heart breaking tragedy of the Los Angeles wildfires.
