Just out here trying my blessed. Amateur Microscopy.

Say what you will but this place is intensely beautiful.
(Dead Leaf)
This one has stuck with me since I first saw it. Unfortunately I can't fully remember what I was looking at, but I *think* it was some burnt pizza. What is this strange and sickly thing that I would've otherwise consumed? Looks like a tiny peanut, sort of. I think of it regularly

A Decaying Leaf
This was also from the dyed flowers, so maybe there's some dye in here as well. I'm not sure exactly how I got such a strange effect on the usually dark portion in the photo, but I kind of like it.

A couple odd things I found in some lake water. What these are is a mystery to me.

Hornet! The divots in their exoskeleton are surprisingly sizeable, and I didn't realize they had these really interesting looking hooked feet.
I also found out that if you want to learn more about that googling "hornet feet" will not return what you're looking for 🙃

The petals of some flowers that were colored with dye. How pretty. Unfortunately these were also taken as they were wilting, rather than fresh.

Would you believe this imposing figure was just a little worm? I think Chaetogaster. I love their little fin-looking setae.

A beautiful little winged ant under the microscope. Such a pretty amber color 🧡

The same leaf, but a month later.

A bubble made this little smiley face appear in a sample, and they had this odd little rock on the side of their head.

Little Piece of Mold or Fungus in a Dirt Sample.
November 15, 2025 at 3:27 PM
In the dirt sample there were these little black and brown things, sometimes with strips near the edge. I'm thinking maybe pollen? Otherwise not quite sure what they are.

Wood and Dirt Sample. There was this tiny thing on the wood that kind of looked like a snail, but I couldn't tell what it was. In any case, there was also a tiny little mite next to it : )

Hollowed Out Exoskeleton of Some Larva or Something. Not exactly sure what this is, besides remains (molted?). There was a little microbe going over it which you can kind of see in the fourth pic (the white spot in the middle on the right)

The Water Flea, lit with a flashlight.

One of my favorite subjects thus far: Another Water Flea! Just look at that - a bigger one so I was able to get nice details on it. Such a strange and interesting thing. If you weren't aware they are crustaceans : )
I think this is Simocephalus but I'm not really sure on species.

View of water flea as it's swimming around. They can be quite quick. Not Chydorus I don't think. I think this one is something actually from Daphniidae. Maybe Simocephalus.

Water Flea, possibly Chydorus (?)
Very silly looking little guy, in my opinion.

A piece of plant material, but not quite sure what it is past that - I believe I found it in lake water.

Another Anti-Theft Strip. This one was a long single-line one.
November 8, 2025 at 3:15 PM
Some punctured/mangled metal from the anti-theft packet. I think perhaps my cat bit this part.

Anti-Theft Packet
Opened up one of those security things they put on stuff and looked at the metal, glue, and plastic inside : ) This was a square shaped one.
