Building https://juno.do. @juno.do

Let’s talk tech, software engineering, philosophy and politics, books, Japan, and anything beautiful.
tfw people’s political commentary on the street is indistinguishable from TV pundits’ talking points

and it happens with both a drunk guy at the bar, and a supposedly sophisticated suit at a café

Very happy with the progress we're making on the @juno.do app. Try it, and let me know what you think!
🚀 Juno app is out — with true offline.

Your full planner on mobile, even without signal. Check tasks on the train, start time tracking mid-flight, and mark things done before you land.

This isn't just a "companion app"...

Getting started with PARA in Obsidian. I've tried to overcomplicate this before, let's optimize for action this time.

Honestly, this framing adapts very well to my constraints and way of working. Curious to see how it works for me long-term.

If you love Jira, PLEASE let’s talk. I need to understand why it can be a good choice over alternatives, and for who.

Moraleja: cuando te das cuenta de que lo que crees es un error, puedes reconocerlo y crecer, o retorcerlo hasta hacerlo tan estúpido que no haya forma de confrontarlo.

Prompt yourself like you do with AIs.

When you prompt, you are outlining your goals and how to get there. You should always start there when you try to write something.

Starting with writing the final product will just cause you pain.

Very good, concise and illustrative way to put it.
People spend a lot of time wondering why the left is worse at using independent media to control the national narrative.

A useful exercise is to ask why the left is also worse at selling snake oil and pyramid schemes, because I think the reasons are basically exactly the same.

You might not believe this, but in Spain thousands of services, like our digital planner, fail whenever there's a LaLiga match because the government BLOCKS ALL ACCESS TO CLOUDFLARE DURING GAMES.

If you're in Spain, now you might see some errors. Sorry about that!

My screen was flickering after ~8pm if dark UI mode was enabled.

There is something called "black stabilizer" hidden in your picture settings. Setting it to zero fixed the issue completely. Thanks again, random Reddit user.

This morning I spilled a coffee on myself, luckily just on some sweatpants.

Now I feel like I’m in a café everywhere I go. I might do it on purpose next time.

Today, we’re deprecating Create React App for new apps, and encouraging existing apps to migrate to a framework.

We’re also providing docs for when a framework isn’t a good fit for your project, or you prefer to start by building a framework.
