rogue academic. writer of things. thiefer of souls. connoisseur of monstrosity. maestro of world-ending. & law student?

Pleased as I am with my provisional exam results, I still wish I'd discovered exactly how ill I've been before getting 3/4 of the way through my degree.

OTH I've made it 3/4 of the way through my degree while being extremely ill so...

Even as I feel that fascinated awe when faced with historical reality - not the great monuments; the footprints, the bits of cloth, the lewd joke carved into a wall - it utterly puzzles me why we fixate so much on what happened to strangers millions of years ago.

I feel like I missed my true calling to be a ghost hunter.

An hour ago, I was watching video instructions to tailor a shirt (necessary, not whim. This time).

I ended up on Bella Thorne's Wikipedia trying to figure out who she was on AHS.

I do, however, know how to fix my shirt. I think.

Law school has had the odd effect of making me very craft-y. 🤔🧵🪡🧑‍🎨

I would love to visit the kind palaces of Jantje Friese & Baran bo Odar. Dark is still one of my all-time favourite series & 1899 is shaping up to be the same.

They're frickin brilliant. I hate them. 😂

I usually find Agatha Christie a bit quaint for my tastes, but I highly recommend #SevenDials. It's delightfully twisty & the cinematography (what I always show up for) is extremely gratifying.

NGL It took me 3 hours (& several days) to get this right, but I did it.

Who says stubbornness isn't a virtue?

I am definitely going to have a crochet tricera-dragon ASAP.

Aaaannnd just got the notification that my modular wardrobe is being delivered today! 🕺🕺🕺
Coincidentally started today with that need to make something without any clue what to make.

Still have no clue, but love this video 🧑‍🎨 ✍️ 🎭

My new oil dispensers arrives today & I am ecstatic 😁

Only 19 hours and 6 minutes until I get to use them for the first time!

I've reached the I-Need-To-Get-Me-A-Saw stage of trying to fix my shelf problem. Although I'd need to find a good tree first...

You really take things for granted when you can walk out the house & drag a tree down off the mountain.

Not even the most hick thing I've done, either.

Trying to get my GSD in a regular eating schedule & she is killing the role of Most Cruelly Treated Person Ever.

No one tells you that all GSDs have an inner husky literally screaming to get out.

On a related note, I cant find a book to read.

I have The Burning Kingdoms, Shadow of the Leviathan, Legacy of Orïsha, The Greatcoats, Rotherweird, The Expanse, The Silo Saga, Iskari, & Cities of the Weft all in progress but not in the mood for any of them.

I need to find some history friends so we can talk about something besides the utterly predictable series of current events.

Bonus of researching apocalypses: You see it coming way before everyone else.

Downside: You saw it coming way before everyone else, & people have an oddly negative reaction when you say, "Told ya."

I'm so feeling the Cassandra vibes.

Every year, my neighbour hooks a flatbed to a harvester, decks the whole thing out in lights, then drives through the neighbourhood, dressed as Santa and blaring a Christmas songs.

Rural Scotland, y'all. It's not just sheeps & coos.

I will forever blame the decline of the modern world to the absolute dearth of quality investigative media re: the paranormal.

Not sure why, but my dog finds Big Bang Theory incredibly soothing. It's like magic. Fireworks go off? Switch on BBT & she's transfixed.

Downside is being the ADHD human trying to work in the same room that the ADHD dog is watching tv.

Revising Dworkin & now all I can think about is a graphic novel about SuperJudge who possesses full knowledge of all law in the multiverse & delivers the singular, right verdict every time.

Hey, I bet they thought Matt Murdock sounded lame, too.

Hans Kelsen can suck it.

Legal positivism doesn't exist.

Yeah, you heard me.

Sometimes I like to browse the writing how-to books and pretend they'll get the writing done.

Spoiler: They don't. Writing gets the writing done, so sit your ass down and do it.

Well. Damn. There goes my trade secret. I'm going to need to speak with my marketing manager about a new slogan.

Not too long ago: I walked the entirety of la petite ceinture, climbed ruins of castles, & squirmed thru tunnels in the cliffs of Dover to reach old bunkers.

I was a street photog, performer, general underground art scene guru.

I'm pretty sure I text myself more than anyone else.

Just little things. Recipes. Books. Weird stuff I might want to know later.

Do I read these messages?

No. But it's nice to know I'm thinking of me.
