Saw #WakeUpDeadMan in a completely packed theater in London. Darker, more complex, but still retains the signature @rianjohnson.bsky.social sense of humor and wit. Loved it from start to finish. See it in a cinema if it’s remotely possible for you - don’t let Netflix tell you any different!

#TronAres is a fun blockbuster with an outstanding soundtrack by #NIN. I hope we don't have to wait another decade and a half for the next installment in this underrated series. Absolutely worth the ride in IMAX 3D, speaking as a not-a-fan of 3D in general.

Dwayne Johnson is a revelation, and sometimes unrecognizable, in Benny Safdie’s #TheSmashingMachine. This is a role he was born to play and he absolutely deserves an Oscar-nomination for it.

PTA’s #OneBattleAfterAnother is a masterpiece. It features outstanding performances, ingenious writing, and edge-of-your-seat suspense. It also just might be next year’s Best Picture Oscar-winner.

I was lucky enough to see in VistaVision and I think a 70mm IMAX viewing might be next.

#Superman is the first truly definitive iteration of the character in the modern era. It's a film with sincerity, heart, wholesomeness, and refreshingly lacking in cynicism. Perfectly cast, and beautifully written. @jamesgunn.bsky.social has done it at long last. He got it right.

I'm walking down Brewer Street in Soho, and I see two men, one of them very stylishly dressed, walking towards me. I said to one of them, "Are you Spike Lee?!". He goes, "Yes." We fist-bump.

If I wasn't also on the phone while this encounter happened, I knew I would never be believed.

Like much of Nathan Fielder's body of work, the incredible new season of #TheRehearsal defies explanation -- any attempt to do so will fall short of doing it justice and make me sound like a crazy person.

#Sinners is an experience to behold. Complex, layered, and wildly entertaining, it’s the type of film Hollywood needs to make more of. See it in 70mm IMAX if you can, but see it nonetheless. Ryan Coogler has done it yet again.

Saw @kumail.bsky.social do his brilliant new stand up in London tonight. Laughed my head off, and JFC he looks even more swole in real life!

For the director, the studio exec is picking between Scorcese and the guy who made the Captain Underpants movie.

I've never been this hyped up for an #Oscars ceremony, not because of the films (which are excellent), but because of the incomparable #Conan O'Brien. I've been a fan for most of my life, I think I can easily say he's my favorite comedian.

A slow burn, but precisely the type of film Ebert would describe as an "empathy machine". Highly recommend seeing #SeedOfTheSacredFig.

A bunch of people talking in a room for 90 minutes can in fact be some of the most riveting pieces of film you can ever see, #September5 is proof of that. It deserved a Best Picture nod.
