I likely got stung by a Tarantula Hawk today... and now I know that my home is surrounded by them. It felt like I got punched with a fist-shaped branding iron. Nine hours later, I'm still feeling that punch, intermittently, but the site no longer burns.

I met a gorgeous CHONKY baby yesterday. Off-the-charts in both height and weight. 9 mo. old baby was cute as a button, alert, behaving normally, etc. & likely 30 lbs. This *must* be a genetic predisposition to retaining extra calories in case of being left for a day or two or living in the Arctic.

The dang deer ate my tomatoes and cucumbers, less than a week after a squirrel got to my seed stash. After all I do for them! *shakes fist* Will need to see if putting out pellets and seed will convince these guys to leave my veggies alone.
