Growing Disturbing Trend of Forceful Abduction and Targeted Execution of Baloch Individuals The rising trend of forceful abduction and targeted execution of Baloch individuals, particularly the youth, marks an alarming intensification of the ongoing Baloch genocide. Continuing genocide and enforced disappearances with impunity , Pakistani forces forcibly abducted five Baloch youth from Maskan Chorangai, Karachi, around 1:00 AM last night. Among those abducted is Meraj Shad, son of Gam Shad, a resident of Turbat. Meraj, a member of the Central Organizing Committee of the National Democratic Party, is a highly conscious and politically active Baloch youth and a recent graduate in International Relations from the University of Karachi. Another abductee is Doda Ellahi, son of Ellahi Baksh, a resident of Bal Nigwhar and a sixth-semester student at Karachi University. Doda was previously subjected to enforced disappearance in June 2022 and released after eight days of detention following peaceful protests by his family and Civil society. Also forcibly disappeared is Gamshad Baloch, son of Ghani, a resident of the Mand area of Kech and an M.Phil student in the Philosophy Department. Doda and Gamshad were previously abducted together and later released. Muzamil, son of Gaffar, a resident of Pasni and a sixth-semester student of Philosophy, was also subjected to enforced disappearance. Ismail, son of Ibrahim, a resident of Mand and a worker in Dubai, was forcibly disappeared from Hassan Square, Karachi. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee vehemently condemns the illegal detention of these young Baloch students and political workers. We raise serious concerns about their well-being, as on a daily basis, forcefully abducted Baloch individuals are being targeted in fake encounters and brutally killed. #EndEnforcedDisappearances #StopBalochGenocide #HumanRightsDay

In line with this year theme: “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now”, BYC aims to highlight the total absence and grave abuses of Fundamental Human Rights for the Baloch. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a landmark document that enshrines the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. As a “common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations”, the UDHR is a global blueprint for international, national, and local laws and policies and a bedrock of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. It must be noted that Baloch nation is being persecuted in their indigenous homeland since decades. Enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, military operations, torture, harassment, and several other tools are being utilized to carry out a complete genocide of the Baloch. In the month of November, at least 81 individuals have been forcibly disappeared and 8 have been extra-judicially killed. These are only the recorded numbers whereas actual figures are much higher given the extreme restrictions on communications, internet, media blackout, state propaganda, fear, harassment, and freedom of assembly and expression under the pretext of the ongoing military operation across Balochistan. The time and venue of the program would be coordinated to the public later. #StopBalochGenocide

The Baloch Nation is enduring the worst forms of colonial oppression and state violence, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and genocide, which remain unrecognized by the international community and human rights organizations. With each passing day, the number of such cases continues to rise, yet the Baloch Nation resists these crimes with steadfast determination. Amidst these horrific violations, the people of Kalat, along with the families of Sayed Hassan Shah and Sayed Akhter Shah, have blocked the main highway, demanding their safe recovery. A father and son were detained by Pakistani forces: Sayed Hassan Shah was forcibly disappeared eight days ago, and his son was forcibly disappeared two months earlier. Meanwhile, students at Lasbela Agriculture University, along with the family members of Bayandur—a student forcibly disappeared from Uthal City on November 29th—have staged a sit-in camp in front of the university, demanding his safe recovery. Bayandur’s father, Mureed Khan, an elderly school teacher struggling to make ends meet, has left his home to lead this protest for his son’s return. Bayandur was forcibly disappeared ahead of his final exams. Another Baloch student, Imtiaz Baloch, son of Nazeer Ahmed and a resident of Buleda, was forcibly disappeared in Quetta while heading home. Imtiaz is a first-semester student of BS Public Finance at Bahauddin Zakariya University. We urge human rights organizations and civil society to stand against these horrific crimes targeting peaceful Baloch students and civilians. In particular, we call on the United Nations Working Group on Enforced Disappearances to take immediate and preemptive measures to hold Pakistani authorities accountable for their crimes against humanity and the Baloch Nation. #EndEnforcedDisappearances #StopBalochGenocide
