Question for my fellow #Godot developers:

How would you go about creating a struct in Godot with the least amount of overhead?

I'm assuming that using RefCounted would be the way to go, but I wonder if there are any other ways.

I finally have a solid understanding of what I'll need for my game's UI. But designing and implementing it will come later.

Instead, I'm going to switch back over to planning systems. With today's work and last night's ideas, I have a lot to figure out.

You know, the more I look at other people's code, the more envious I get at how short and clean their scripts are. Or at least, how short and clean they look.

I might end up rethinking my current script templates and how heavily I employ regions...

Omigod... I am so glad that I started planning this game out in Obsidian first, instead of jumping straight into code.

Otherwise, I might have had a fist-shaped hole in my monitor by now.

Turns out, trying this whole systemic approach to game design is pretty helpful.

After doing some browsing, collecting, and brainstorming, I have much more solid plan for this game.

Think trading simulator, but you're scheduling tasks and handling events in order to carry out hits and level up as an assassin.

I'm calling it Killendar.

Spent the day planning out my game's architecture in Obsidian, and I'm quite pleased with how much I got done.

Of course, I still need to create all of these in Godot. Plus, you know... actually program it.

But that's Future Me's problem. Present Me's going to sleep.

Now that I know the registration deadline for this summer's Next Fest, I kind of want to make a serious attempt at joining it, and releasing the full game on my birthday in August.

I think this morning's epiphany and the past few days of study have resolved my anxiety issue. Huzzah!
