Jonestown by Chris Masters—which detailed many of the allegations against Jones—came out in 2006. 2006! And it's taken this long for the wheels of justice to turn. Would Jones have been arrested earlier if he hadn't coached the Wallabies to a Grand Slam? Was he Grand Slam-washed?

The way Putinist/Orbanist government works is to use xenophobia to elect a strongman who directs the spoils of government to business cronies, who use their wealth to dominate media and ensure reelection. This may be the system that is going to start taking shape in America now.
