When I was 17, I wrote a Spider-Man back-up and was lucky enough for it to be illustrated by the great Sal Buscema. After finishing the job, Sal called me at home — my parents probably had to hand me the phone — and complimented me on the writing. It was a highlight of my life. RIP. 😢

How incredible that for $20 we can get a facsimile of this 1976 treasury by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, and Dick Giordano, with assists by Neal Adams and John Romita. Textbook-perfect crossover. Luscious newsprint pages. I want to die with this book over my face, breathing it in…

@explodingarrow.bsky.social I got my copy of The Comics Courier #3 today! It feels great to hold some folded newsprint and, as you say in your intro, the contents really do cover a wide swath of comics both familiar and new to me. I look forward to reading this over coffee and breakfast.

To close out the day, I finally read my copy of Psychic Sam Vol. 1 by Mark Millar, @johnromita.bsky.social, and Klaus Janson. I had a blast with it — the type of violent vigilante justice book that fell out of fashion and is largely missing from today’s marketplace. Ready for Vol. 2!

Daredevil/Punisher: The Devil’s Trigger by @jimmypalmiotti.bsky.social and Tommaso Bianchi took me by surprise, expanding on the characters’ definitive confrontation in Welcome Back, Frank. Call me nostalgic, but this trip back to 2000 is my fave of the (all good) currently running Punisher books.
