The broader picture of the last month is not DeepSeek or StarGate or whatever but that all the technical & investment signals are now pointing to an expectation of continued rapid acceleration of AI capabilities.

And we still lack a clear articulation about what that looks like from any major party

So many critics have chosen to adopt a set of beliefs that AI is going to go away - sometimes it is an insistence that it is all fake, sometimes “model collapse” etc. The evidence just doesn’t support this.

We need good criticism & policy in this space, and that requires recognizing where we are.

No teeth here. The only salient requirement is that there is an instructor of record. This says nothing about what work AI could be doing, what class caps might look like, and more. Further, how will credits transfer across different institutions and states when we actually have AI taught courses?
