Had a spare few hours today so headed to a very chilly SWT Lackford Lakes to see the drake Green-winged Teal that has been on the Slough for a few days, there were also a pair of Goldeneye on the Sailing Lake & at least 4 Crossbills beside Plover Lake plus lots of Siskin and Redwing #Suffolkbirding

Enjoyed a very pleasant @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social boat trip on the River Ore and Butley River on Sunday, was interesting to observe a good number of waders from the boat. Also before the trip I managed to see the North Warren shrike which was showing very well #Suffolkbirding

Timely reminder for everyone to continue to report all dead birds that you find to the links below for possible testing. It's also really valuable to submit to @birdtrack.bsky.social for monitoring purposes too.

A grand day out at the Mansion House in Ipswich for Discovery Day! BOSS was there with the other brilliant Suffolk Bird Group projects — and the barn owl pellet dissections stole the show! Curious young minds, tweezers at the ready, and plenty of “ewws” and “wows”! 🦉🔍 @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social

Full steam ahead! We’re busy getting owl boxes up before winter sets in — giving our feathery friends plenty of time to find their new homes well before next year’s breeding season. Ladders out, tools at the ready, and spirits sky-high! 🦉 🍁 @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social

Nice walk around the village this morning with 42 species recorded on my birdtrack.bsky.social list. Seems to have been an increase in Blackbirds and Wood Pigeons over the last couple of days and a few Swallows went over heading south #suffolkbirding
