I'm increasingly convinced that we're now in some sort of "post-data" political era where passions supersede policy considerations. Tapping into resonant narratives and emotions seems key to moving voters—not technocracy—so I hope the dems are hunting around for some good storytellers. We need em.

Why are American workers so gloomy about their economic prospects? Easy. The deck is stacked against them. One example: An entrenched corporate culture that excuses any mistreatment of employees as "Hey, that's just business" while attacking even the slightest employee pushback as "unprofessional."

I have many friends from Eastern Europe whose parents fled the Soviet Union for the West in the late 1980s without a hint that Communist bloc was mere years away from collapse. Point being: Power, even entrenched power, is often weaker than it seems. Good lesson to remember 10 years into Trump.
