Mutes *ALL* notifications from a major sports app because I couldn't care less about UFC and can see no other way to stop the deluge of spam notifications.

New #RAJAR is out, and I've been number crunching:

- 50m/86% of UK listen to the radio weekly
- Gap widens between Commercial Radio and the BBC
- Overall falls for speech radio
- Global extends lead over Bauer
- 28.3% of the population listen to podcasts each week

An email subject header from Netflix:

"Adam, we've just added a documentary series you might like"

Ooh. A science doc perhaps? Or natural history? Maybe a hard hitting doc on the misuse of technology or the dangers of social media?

"Victoria Beckham"

Hard pass.

This Galatasaray crowd is quite something to listen to in Dolby Atmos when Liverpool is on the ball!

The episode of 3-2-1 that @itvx.com has put up as part of its 70th birthday celebrations is the very first episode, featuring the late radio presenter, Janice Long.

How thoroughly delightful that @boomradio.co.uk had Pete Murray on-air this morning to present the Boom Top 5 this morning on the occasion of his 100th birthday!

Someone incredibly famous dies, and the live blog kicks into play at lots of media outlets.

They need to fill it quickly with tributes. But it takes a while before those the person worked closely with or was peers with put out a statement or a quote.

Seeing that massive TDK and behind the runners in the #Worldathleticschampionships 100m heats does make me want to rush out and buy a D90...

A massive US Army Chinook just passed overhead. I assume it's part of an advance party for next week's State visit.

Always fun to read a press release with a single quote attributed to three separate people.

(I mean, we all *know* a PR person wrote all the lines for everyone, but still...)

If Piers Morgan's YouTube show "Uncensored" is going to channel 5 here in the UK, where it will have to adhere to Ofcom guidelines, does that in fact mean that it will be "Censored"?

I've got around to examining the latest @edisonresearch.bsky.social podcast rankings for the UK, and in particular, tracking them over time.

Over on my blog there's a handy interactive chart showing how the Top 25 titles have performed over time.

At this point betting adverts are going completely over my head. I literally have no idea what they're talking about and I have no intention of Googling to find out.

Cracking review of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.

"There’s a general mismatch in “Dark Wolf” between the deft subtlety of a good spy yarn and the brawny machismo of the might-makes-right war pornography this show wants to be... ...Le Carré this isn’t."

The prequel to hit Amazon series 'The Terminal List,' starring Taylor Kitsch, delivers more of the same macho posturing and American aggression.

Apple is distributing its streaming radio stations like Apple Music 1 on TuneIn! Zane Lowe mentioned in a recent Insta post that he'd just moved into their new studios, which did remind me that Apple's radio offering is incredibly hidden. This should unhide it a bit:

I am overly fascinated by the state of sports TV rights in general, and specifically in the UK. At the start of the football season, I've taken a quick look at which channels have what sports, and the streamers in particular. It's mostly from a UK perspective: www.adambowie.com/blog/2025/08...

Who is buying these things? Is this what the publishing industry has come to?

(And yes, that *is* a Taylor Swift "activity book" just behind, alongside the BTS bookazine)

Great moments in podcast advertising #1:

The UK ad I heard dropped into a US podcast that sounded like it had been mastered as a 32k MP3. Serious phone-call quality audio vibes. It was clearly recorded properly but something went wrong in the chain and nobody cared enough to spot the issue.

Advertising "brand safety" is an interesting concept. For example, going directly from an ultra violent gangster show straight into an ad for an FMCG brand without any kind of interstitial.

Technically it's also a mess: music cues cut off like the most inept editing of a film on commercial TV.
