i think ring racers by nature has to grapple with the general public's expectations for a "mario kart-like" vs its own vision of a technical micromanagement fighter/racer hybrid so i'm glad that, instead of sanding down its edges, the new update doubles down and gives it fucking Burst
personally i think any racing game where you can blow yourself up for a speed boost is a good one (get on the new ring racers!)
