Hello!
New here so a short intro. I‘m a researcher developer in Scotland and focus on #AcWri communities, #neurodivergence, #GenAI for writing and more. Big fan of creative methods. My blog is a good representation of my many facets (thanks #ADHD) www.stephaniezihms.blog

Not sure if this is an #ADHD hack but we started a master shopping list and tick off what we have and then know what need to buy…rather than having to work out what we need…what are yours?

We are moving from Spotify to Qobuz (www.qobuz.com) - week 2 of the free trial and very happy with the sound, music available and features…it’s cheaper and supports the artists better
Qobuz Student Plan
Qobuz Student offers the lowest price for a subscription with access to a catalog of over 100 million tracks in high quality.

I would love an #ADHD setting on my washing machine. Rather than beeping three times and then shutting off when a wash is done , it beeps three times every 15min. If the washing hasn’t been taken out after a certain time the machine does a short refresh cycle and we start again…

Ever notice how you're way more supportive of other people's research than your own?
So... what if you wrote about YOUR work as if you were someone else? This rewriting-in-role technique (Claire Coleman) is surprisingly effective for combating imposter feelings.

New! Cassetteboy vs Keir Starmer.

This took absolutely ages, so if you'd like to buy us a coffee at ko-fi.com/cassetteboy we'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

You know that saying "a PhD is a marathon, not a sprint"? I actually think that's rubbish.
A marathon has a fixed distance and finish line. A PhD is more like preparing for a marathon with a moveable finish line and confusing signposts!

A PhD is not a marathon – it’s like preparing for one
You’ve probably heard people say “a PhD is a marathon, not a sprint.” While I get what they’re trying to say, I actually disagree with comparing something fixed like a marat…

Going to pick up the wee guy from nursery - that always helps me re-set. Especially after a tricky day!
So I totally messed some timings today, then got mad at someone because I thought they had messed up. So I apologised and will be anxious until I get a reply. Thanks #ADHD brain! Thats why I need calendar invites and not information in emails…
BTW This was for my reasonable adjustments appointment

Found a great #ADHD focus app - free and no account needed - it’s called Focus Friend and you help a little bean knit socks…unless you interrupt them. Definitely like this better than just a timer or the ones that grow things because this little guy is working too…

Working compressed hours after maternity leave was one of the best decisions - I love having that extra day with the wee guy…and not lose 20% pay #WorkingMum #AcademicMum

Fascinating thread about uni websites
Okay. I've got admin bits to sort today. So to distract me while i wait on things to run at various points:

For every few likes this get, a fact about university websites and how gen z and below interact with information, as proven by testing/data.

(Most of which unis aren't handling well yet)
