Given that it is unclear which, if any, aspects of Lebhar’s Godly Admonition Dobbs will enforce, the transfer raises questions about its practical effects. Does it place Alger back in active ministry? Does it sidestep the Godly Admonition?

The Court unanimously found Bishop Ruch not guilty on all four charges, citing the prosecution’s failure to meet the canonical burden of proving the charges by clear and convincing evidence.

While the timeline of Wood’s trial is yet unknown, ACNA Chancellor Bill Nelson noted that the court would not address the Wood matter until Bp. Stewart Ruch’s trial process concludes. Bp. Ruch’s verdict is due December 16, 2025.

Abp. Steve Wood announced on 9/21/25 that he has inhibited Bp. Derek Jones of the JAFC. JAFC leadership responded to the inhibition on 9/22/25 by terminating their affiliation with the ACNA and challenging the Province’s account of the events.
