Newly minted PhD. Molecular plant biologist at Innatrix in RTP, NC. Interested in developing strategies to combat plant diseases in agriculture. In my downtime I’m taking a picture of my plate my plate, reading my kindle, or planning my next trip 🌱👩🏻‍🔬🥘📖🥾🌊🌄
Having major #2025ISMPMI FOMO… thankfully @morgancarterphd.bsky.social is keeping everyone updated on the new exciting science being shared!

Meet Innatrix’ summer intern, Ben Ryan! He is a forensic biology undergrad who discovered his love for plant biology (which makes sense since plants are awesome).

With our latest SCN trial taken down this week, Ben is busy counting cysts.

Excited to be Ben’s mentor this summer!

Just entered bluesky and need to bulk up my science friends again,
Hence, a joke ....

Hi, I study how "diverse" bacteria interact with fungi to learn about microbial "community diversity" and the "underappreciated" field of microbial interactions. We want to know how fungi "discriminate" or are "biased toward" certain potential symbionts.

And Ctrl+F word policing is dumb. 🦠🧪

Now that I’m in the 💙sky I can share this from graduation last month. I was hesitant about making the trip back to IN for 48 hours, but I’m so glad I did!
Proud mentor of Ph.D. triplets! Congratulations to Suchismita Ghosh, Ben Koch, and Alexandra Margets! All have a great future in front of them. It's been a great six years in the Innes Lab.
