On the first take of this guitar track (this video is a few takes later) I’d forgotten about the massive drum fill and completely fell apart.

This is an older song I’m bringing back, doubtful these are keeper, but I’m having fun.

I want to make something clear because it’s Bluesky and it’s important to me. I am upset about what’s happening in the States and I care deeply. I know it’s important to speak out. With that said, I came here to share my music and escape, so please understand if I resist my natural urge to soapbox.

I have new songs too, hoping to bring them into the world in good time. Was planning to come out to the SCALA open mic this week but life had other plans. Looking forward to playing out more in the not-too-distant future.

I’m playing guitar a fair bit too! I learned my minor blues scale a while back so now I can noodle a bit like this. I’ll post up some more guitar vids as I get more comfortable with the space and my playing. #guitar

I’m here for fun, posting vids of me playing music without aspirations to content creation and such. I’ll point a camera at the noisemaker and maybe I’ll be in the shot too, prolly work on better angles, but mainly just me doing my thing without bells/whistles (unless they’re the noisemaker!).

Sometimes I can’t resist working the funky drummer beat into a jam.

I’ve been resisting the urge to post on other platforms for various reasons, but for the moment Bluesky seems like a chill place where I can post some music stuff and try to remember what I liked about social media before the algorithms made it feel advertisey/competitive/hierarchical.

I’ve been working on my instrumental chops the past few years, going back to when I was in school, which I graduated in ‘22. Learning drum rudiments and double-bass, blues scale improv on guitar, and even some piano. Here’s a minute of a common drum practice improv from last week. Still learning!
