The new Australian Centre for Disease Control (CDC) commenced operation on 1 January 2026.

ACIPC recognises the importance of a national CDC; the exclusion of IPC as a recognised specialty risks undermining public health.

ACIPC is concerned about the U.S Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices decision on their hep B vaccination schedule for babies. This decision represents a deliberate weakening of evidence-based public health practice.
