Sad to see the end of Moorcroft Pottery - one more piece of our history to go with some blame put on ‘a rash of cheap, illegal forgeries from overseas!!!!

Is this from Conrad Wolfram being considered within the curriculum review?

“In real-world maths, computers do almost all the calculating; by contrast, in
educational maths, people do almost all the calculating.”

"The fundamental problem at the heart of today’s maths education crisis.”

Fractions always a topic where visuals can help.
However need children to decide the questions. E.g “What if we had …….. "
Polypad is great for working with children rather than asking them to watch a 'fixed’ PPT animation.
Love Polypad.

If you have not tried Slido.com I would recommend giving it a try - integrates so nicely in PPT.
I really like it and have to say the Slido support team are superb at responding quickly.

To get a reason for all of the 4 sections on the WODB grid you sometimes have to think ‘outside of the box’
Do you have other solutions for this grid?

Definitely feeling the need for some apricity - some sunshine essential for blue sky thinking
Word of the day, for the umpteenth time, is ‘apricate’, the sister of ‘apricity’. It means to bask in the warmth of the sun, especially on a chilly day.

WODB
polypad.amplify.com/wodb?tile=nu...
Considering difficulty of some generated questions.
E.g.
A only shape with both dimensions even numbers
B Perimeter value< area value
C Shape with least difference between dimensions
D Only shape with a dimension of 1

What other reasons can you see?

PISA outcomes identify relative weakness in Visualisation, Shape and Space, Geometry for our 15 year olds. This weakness can also be seen in KS2 SATs outcomes nationally.
Maybe we should be reviewing Geometry in the curriculum and the PD provided to teachers.
