Feeling aggrieved. Midsummer and the wind is perishing. People, including me are all rugged up in woollies & puffer jackets in Welly.

Its all about "lump thinking." You can take away people's humanity that way, "the" homeless, "the" elderly, "the" disabled, reducing people to stuff and labels. Ugh!

This finding by international experts in suicide prevention further supports the points I raised in my Policy Options piece about the need for, among other things, the media to follow proper protocols consistent with covering suicide when covering MAiD.

Reality, not religion, is the reason people need MAiD-free health care

This is heartbreaking, and not new for #disabled people or those with facial difference. I can personally relate to this, remembering my youth. Finding my #disability community and the irreverent and subversive humour we share can be liberating. thespinoff.co.nz/society/15-0...

2887 words, third draft of a difficult piece. I'm finally getting into the nonfiction personal #essay collection again. Phew. This one is complicated. Last year was so hard I achieved very little. #writing #smwriting

Also if image fails to load or images blocked, browser shows it in place of the image.
Search engines use alternative text and factor it into their assessment of the page purpose and content. #a11y #accessibility

Alt text is a text substitute for non-text content in web pages, including images, also applies to multimedia and other non-text content. Screen readers speak alt text in place of images, so users with visual or some cognitive disabilities access content & function of images. #a11y #accessibility

Some pretty wild alt text on here! It should be accurate & equivalent in showing content & function, succinct, not repeat info in text, not include phrases like "image of ..." or "graphic of ...", etc. Its info, not reflection, saga, or epic. #access #accessibility #a11y webaim.org/techniques/a...

Problem is, if I can't see the destination or number I can miss the bus, so yes they should have to stop, especially where many different routes use the same stop, as on Lambton Quay. #accessibility #transport www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

Deeply disappointed in NZ Festival of the #Arts. No mention of #access on home page or in top level of the menu. First up a horrible flicking and flashing image gave me a headache. Shame as it includes #disabilityarts Probably won't promote to us tho. #a11yfail #artsaccess
