We are attending a small, local Indigenous convention called SkasdiCon this weekend. And then in just a few weeks, we will be at PAXU. Gonna be a very busy and fun November.

SkasdiCon
Welcome to SkasdiCon, a showcase of Indigenous influence on pop culture. While there’s no word quite like “Skasdi” in English, it conveys pride, impressiveness, awesomeness, fierceness and feistiness.

Happy Halloween to all who celebrate, and a happy birthday week to our own @willmthompson.bsky.social. Watch out for ghouls, ghosts, and the occasional flying egg.

Getting our playtest on with Mirror Agents at LexiCon in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

We will be at PAX Unplugged in a few weeks, and we are looking for any reviewers who plan to be at the Con and would like to take a look at Mirror Agents. If you are a reviewer and interested, please contact us, and we can set up some demo time.

Revealing The Courier art for Mirror Agents today. This asset helps you move Intel around the board. Love the sense of movement here as they look over their shoulder and their jacket blows in the wind. We also love the nondescript box strapped to the back of the bike.

Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day! We want to acknowledge all those who work to keep Indigenous cultures alive and growing.

In honor of this day, Winter Rabbit is on sale today only. This truly Indigenous board game incorporates authentic art, design, stories, and cultural concepts. #indigenousart

Forgotten Labyrinth, one of our local game stores, does 3d printing. And they were kind enough to print us a bunch of test meeples for Mirror Agent Prototypes as we are working deciding on the final design for the Guard Tokens. Which one is your favorite (mini agent meeple for scale).

Showing off a new piece of Mirror Agents art. This time, we have The Decoy. We have a strong Marlene Dietrich vibe going.

David conducted a workshop on Thematic Game Design at a local board game. We decided he should type up his notes into a blog post to share as well.

A new illustration for Mirror Agents. I give you The Saboteur. Really love the way the lighting was done on this one, and if you can see a little grin on their face.

Thanks to #solosept, we have sold enough of our books this month that we've had to place a new print order. Thank you to everyone who has purchased one of them. We hope you enjoy them. We love to read the stories players come up with.

Did some testing with our first full art prototype of Mirror Agents this weekend. Graphic design needs some fine tuning, but it's looking and playing great.

We are currently in talks with several human artists for upcoming projects. We've made a statement about AI before, but want to reaffirm that we are dedicated to not using AI in any capacity. We believe in supporting artists because each of them brings something unique of themselves to our projects.

A flashback to 2017, when we were first promoting Churrascaria before our very first Kickstarter. Showing it off at our favorite local game cafe, which is sadly no more. Dave also still had hair back then. We've come a long way since then.

We came across a post from someone playing through Transformation and wanted to reach out to anyone else who has created their own story with one of our books. We'd love for you to share. What dark, tragic, or terrifying tales have you crafted with Transformation or Seven Murders Til Midnight?

Wanted to show off a teaser image for Mirror Agents that will show up as part of one of the player screens.

The game is inspired by noir spy fiction. Do you have a favorite spy movie or novel?

We received the final version of The Analyst, and I thought I'd create another progress video to show how it evolved from the initial thumbnail to the final art. This one had very little in the way of changes from the refined greyscale. Love how the lighting worked out in the final version.
September 8, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Our artist continues work on the characters for Mirror Agent. Here is The Analyst, from the rough thumbnail to this gorgeous grayscale. This sort of progress and refinement is why we will always prefer working with actual artists. We should have colors soon.

A friend of ours at GenCon found out game, Transformation, being sold at the @ipr.bsky.social booth. They have lots of other great games as well, but if you are looking for a little body horror you should pick up a copy.

We've gotten some more initial sketchess in from our illustrator for the asset cards in Mirror Agents. None of these are final, of course, but they are heading in the right direction.
July 29, 2025 at 6:13 PM
We are out playtesting today, and showing off the graphic design in progress for Mirror Agents. Really happy with the art deco vibe we are going with.

We just found this video that was posted back in February. The creator discusses solo RPGs as a means to enhance your writing. He shouts out some great solo RPGs, including ours! If you liked Transformation or Seven Murders, you may also enjoy some of these other games.

If you've never designed a game but are keen to try - perhaps this article will help. Today I've been writing about "First steps in board game design".

I'd also love it if experienced designers have other tips for people who'd like to get started.

Will discusses the semi-cooperative aspects of Winter Rabbit in this thread. It's a good read.
I came across a BGG thread where people were debating the semi-cooperative aspect of my game, Winter Rabbit. It's fun to read. Throughout the development process, I had a few people ask why anyone would cooperate on a shared goal if they knew they'd lose the competitive game. Well...
