The new American oligarchy is here.

The wealthiest 1% gained 987× more wealth per household than the poorest 20%.

Proud of my Oxfam colleagues for exposing this inequality emergency, and calling for an economy that works for the many, not the wealthy few.

Reflecting on my recent visit to the DRC, and how vital it is to keep the voices of local partners, communities, and women impacted by the harmful cuts to US foreign assistance at the center of our efforts.

It’s up to us to bring our common humanity and support to people in need.

I welcome the news of a ceasefire in Gaza, offering a moment of hope and peace after so much loss.

True peace cannot succeed without justice and accountability at its core for all Palestinians and Israelis, ending the cycle of violence.

Two years.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas and other armed groups carried out devastating attacks in Israel.

We still mourn those lost that day and the 48 hostages who remain in captivity.

But Israel’s response has created one of the worst humanitarian crises of our time.

At #ClimateWeekNYC, I opened the “Taxation for Fair Climate Financing” panel organized with @clubdemadrid.bsky.social & @globalsolidaritylevies.org.

Today, as they meet, President Trump must act now to compel Prime Minister Netanyahu to change course: to uphold international law, ensure accountability, end impunity and secure a permanent ceasefire.

In his #UNGA80 speech, President Trump denied the climate crisis, bragged about ending wars & economic woes that his policies exacerbate & undermined the UN. Meanwhile, conflicts escalate & climate and inequality impacts grow. Shameful.

Political violence should have no place in America. Reprehensible acts of violence have harmed people of every political persuasion, undermining our democracy and safety.

Let me be clear: the U.S. cuts to lifesaving aid are not just a funding issue — this is a moral failure.

In my op-ed, I share stories from the DRC where women are paying the highest price for the Trump admin’s reckless cuts to humanitarian assistance.

This plan would be catastrophic for the up to one million people estimated to still be in Gaza City.

The Trump admin cannot allow this to go forward, as it will ensure an entirely new level of displacement, devastation, and death for Palestinians in Gaza. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...

The Trump admin’s rescissions package is cruel and dangerous. Lives are on the line.

The richest 1% gained $33.9 trillion since 2015. That’s enough to end global poverty 22 times over.

Meanwhile, aid is being slashed and 3.7B people remain in poverty.

It’s time to tax the super-rich, reject failed finance models, and put public power at the center.
Over the past decade, the wealth of the world's richest 1% has surged by over $33.9 trillion...enough to end poverty 22 times over.

Lifesaving aid, climate action, quality health care, education for all—it's all possible if we finally tax the ultra-rich.

Since Trump left the region w/out a deal, Israel has escalated its deadly offensive across Gaza & blocking all but a trickle of aid.

Remaining hostages & unlawfully detained prisoners are still not released.

The US must push for more than this as 2 million are on the brink of famine. 1/2

President Trump’s proposed budget is a cruel blow to people in crisis—gutting aid, slashing safety nets, and paving the way for more handouts for billionaires.

Congress must reject these cuts and protect programs that save lives and support families at home and abroad.

Oxfam’s latest analysis lays bare the devastating impact of the Trump administration’s second-term agenda—policies that deepen inequality at home and undermine lives around the world.

As billionaires profit, working people and vulnerable communities are paying the price.
Despite the flurry of executive action in President Trump's first 100 days, little has been delivered for working Americans or U.S. interests.

Oxfam’s experts broke down these inequality-increasing policies and their potential impact on all of our lives. www.oxfamamerica.org/explore/issu...

Trump’s weaponization of tariffs is effectively an attack on the global working class that would turbocharge inequality.

This decision risks pushing up costs for struggling families in the U.S. and worldwide, and triggering economic downturns globally.
