i watched a doc about those guys that listen to police scanners & chase leads to record video & sell to news stations (e.g., freeway car accidents). i remember they said firefighters welcomed them (please record what we do!) and cops were always rude and pushing them away. very telling.

Send @nycplan.org's letter to your councilmember demanding that city council fund libraries with at least 0.5% of the city budget. This is one of the critical times to push for this as they prepare for the budget cycle!
