Here's the cover of "صوت المرأة" (trans. Arabic: Sawt al-Mar'ah, "Woman's Voice") from November 1949. I'd heard that my grandfather, who I never met, helped publish an early feminist magazine in Lebanon. There isn't much about it online. I bought a few issues that I found for sale.

A small character encoding mystery. I came across this product review where apostrophes got replaced with "+IBk-". Curious, I tried searching for more examples or information. The only instance I came across is this bizarre Usenet post, which seems like it should be from 30 years earlier.

Happy Thanksgiving
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Sustain me with raisin cakes, refresh me with apricots: for I am lovesick. His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.
