One of the great things about the Foghorn shorts is the variety especially when it came to what the ‘third character’ was in the Foghorn/Barnyard Dawg dynamic. Here it’s a boxing banty rooster voiced by Sheldon Leonard whom you might know from It’s a Wonderful Life! Sock a Doodle Doo (1952)

Here's the next review I am working on today. It's the second last Frank Tashlin Porky short that he did during his first directing run (his second directing run would start with Porky Pig's Feat in 1943).

While the Coyote did a ‘Batman’ costume bit Sylvester also did the same. To poor results as we see here 😂 It’s also notable that the title itself is a play on the Halloween saying and yet the short has literally NOTHING to do with Halloween. Weird… From Trick or Tweet (1959)

New video now live on the channel! This one covers 'The High and the Flighty (1956)' which is the only time we see Daffy paired up with Foghorn Leghorn during the original run of 1000 shorts! While this is probably more memorable because of that it's actually not a bad entry in the series.

Did you know that Pinto Colvig (the original voice of Goofy) had a falling out with Walt Disney in the late 1930s? As such he did other voice riles at other studios sometimes using this ‘Goofy’ voice. Including this one which is a very early Chuck Jones effort. From Snowman’s Land (1939)

The time the Coyote managed to catch the Road Runner - kind of 😂 I’ve always maintained that the best of Jones’ later work were those few Road Runner shorts he did. From Soup or Sonic (1980) #chuckjones #roadrunner #coyote #looneytunes #animation #warnerbros #classiccartoons #retro #cartoonnetwork

Here is a Bugs and Sam short seldom seen today due to a blackface scene. Thankfully the other parts of this short are great including the ridiculous idea that Sam got his orders from General Lee himself 😂 From Southern Fried Rabbit (1953)

Working on the video for this one today! The Cat's Tale (1941) is an interesting one as it feels like it's Freleng's take on Tom and Jerry. At least at first. But then it plays up with the formula with the mouse finally standing up for himself complaining about how the cat is always out to get him.

The first appearance of the redesign of Speedy Gonzales appeared in the short of the same name and both director Friz Freleng and writer Warren Foster wisely paired him with Sylvester giving him a wonderful new opponent! From Speedy Gonzales (1955) #looneytunes

Thanks to all who have subscribed to the YouTube channel! This is where my long form videos ‘live’ where I cover various animation topics in detail including my attempt to cover each and every Looney Tunes short in detail (all 1000 of them).

Here is a short many may mistake for a Tex Avery effort but it’s actually directed by Friz Freleng! The other directors did their own spot gag shorts with mixed results. But this is a decent one! From Sports Chumpions (1941) #frizfreleng #looneytunes #animation #warnerbros

Working on the video for this one today! Tweet and Sour (1956) is kind of what the Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries show from the 1990s would become where Sylvester and Tweety would be both enemies and reluctant allies against a common threat.

One of the all time classics! While the title is generic this short is the first of a few that takes place on a stage of some kind with director Friz Freleng doing most of them! Let me know your thoughts on this one! From Stage Door Cartoon (1944) #frizfreleng #bugsbunny #elmerfudd

Finished the edit for Rocket Squad (1956) and the review and trivia video covering it is now available for YouTube Members and Patreon Members! Like all other videos it will go public to everyone else a little later on.
But man I really LOVE this one!

The ‘original’ Pixar’s Cars! 😂 Ok there have been lots of shorts from various studios with anthropomorphic cars. Including this one which is an early Friz Freleng gem that had the ‘Tex Avery effect‘ where Freleng was making his shorts faster paced. From Streamline Greta Green (1937) #looneytunes

Recording the audio tracks for the videos covering these two Looney Tunes shorts that came out in 1956 with my buddy Matt Hunter! LOVE Barbary-Coast Bunny - Heaven Scent has its merits but it's not one I'd revisit too often in the future.
What are your thoughts on these?

When you eat too much candy and chocolates you got from Halloween...
Seriously I hope all of you in the US had a fun Halloween! It's not really a 'thing' here in Australia but I enjoy seeing all the stuff you guys get up to.
Let me know how your night went!

While the Review for Broom-Stick Bunny (1956) is now live on the channel let's take another look at the very first Warner Bros version of Witch Hazel in Broom-Stick Bunny (1954)!

I'm premiering my newest review video earlier for Halloween and it's for Broom-Stick Bunny (1956)! This is the first time June Foray does the voice of Warner's version of Witch Hazel (Bea Benaderet did the voice in Bewitched Bunny in 1954)

Peter Lorre would have to be one of the most caricatured celebrities during the golden age of animation though it's not really surprising as he had a unique look that was ripe for caricature!

One of the things I do for YouTube Members and Patreon members is look at animation shorts that are NOT Warner Bros that people can request me to do. They are exclusive for about 6 or so months before going live to the public.
Let me know what you think of this one!

You thought I was done with the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde parodies? Think again! I mentioned previously they did tons of these and here is another one featuring Sylvester who drinks the potion!

One of the frustrating things about Bluesky is the absence of a schedule post feature. I finally figured out how to deal with that so you should see more posts here like I do with other platforms. And I WANT to post here more
But really - shouldn’t that be a standard feature?

Here's a 'spooky' one that's more on the obscure side! It's an Ill Wind (1939) is a short directed by the short lived team of Cal Dalton and Ben Hardaway. This team definitely produced some interesting shorts including this one which has no monster but takes place on a supposedly haunted yacht.
