I've been listening to a lot of Time For Chaos lately, a Call of Cthulhu RPG podcast. A scene in the latest episode has Fairuz dramatically whip off a cultist robe to open fire, and that just sounded so fun to draw.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

I'm really tired of hearing "oh yes, using generative AI that way is bad. But it's OK if you just do it *this* with it!"

How everyone seems to agree that AI *should* be used and how everyone is *actually* using it bare no resemblance to one another.

I'm illustrating the scions in new job roles. First up is Y'shtola as a melee Reaper! She's already shown no fear of the void, even a willingness to cozy up to voidsent, so this felt a nice fit. Getting to keep her fur collar was a bonus.

So I'm working on a series of the scions in alternate job roles, starting with Reaper Y'shtola. I was going to wait until the pieces were done before posting them but the pencils and lineart on her have taken me so long that I need to mark the milestone as a win.
