As ORCID Consortium Lead for Australia, the AAF welcomes the announcement of the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) PID Action Plan.

ARC's PID Action Plan will increase the use of priority persistent identifiers, including ORCID iDs throughout ARC systems.

@orcid.org is a persistent identifier (an ORCID iD) that researchers own and control, distinguishing them from every other researcher. The AAF leads the Australian ORCID Consortium. We support organisational members to understand the benefits of ORCID and offer local support.

AAF's Portfolio Manager, Sarah Thomas, recently attended the Collaborate Innovate Conference held in Melbourne. It was a very insightful conference & gave the AAF a greater understanding of how Trust and Identity can provide seamless and secure access to data, services and compute to CRCs.
