Can you actually sue for emotional distress? Decorated military veteran with a PTSD diagnosis living in downtown Chicago and these fucking blackhawks are not helping. I already leave town during air shows.

My building is planning to install Latch today. I asked to opt out, was told no. Anyone have any ideas here? Beyond the “no thank you to yet another app on my personal device”, any way to quarantine the app?

Ok this. I don’t even like them anymore but I cannot in good conscience replace them. Like 15+ years now. 🤷♀️

Same goes with the tricksy hobbitses who keep turning on AI features every update and I have to turn it off again or re-opt out.

I think it should be okay for apps to ask me about my user preferences like, once a year.
I think it should be illegal for them to reset my ad or auto-play preferences every update. I am a paying customer who has explicitly gone into settings and changed them. Respect it.

TBQH I was yelling to not change things to be like other people because I saw other people coming around to what we had. I think it’s all swings and roundabouts and it’s all tradeoffs no matter what but sometimes folks can’t see that. 🤷♀️

Those on an H1B cannot return to the US from tomorrow (Sunday) unless paying $100K. This is an out-of-the blue presidential action. We’ll see software engineers stranded abroad.
