Despite Trump's bizarre and disturbing Riviera-vision for Gaza - Europe is once again left out. While certainly our attention focus lies in Ukraine - and justifiably so - Europe needs to elevate its political role in the Middle East as such!

Despite Trump's bizarre and disturbing Riviera-vision for Gaza - Europe is once again left out. While certainly our attention focus lies in Ukraine - and justifiably so - Europe needs to elevate its political role in the Middle East as such!
And a side-note for my foreign policy bubble: What do I mean by saying Europe is far from taking a decisive role? Right now, Arab states are still discussing with Trump's envoy Witkoff Egypt's plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, rejected by both Israel and the US.

And a side-note for my foreign policy bubble: What do I mean by saying Europe is far from taking a decisive role? Right now, Arab states are still discussing with Trump's envoy Witkoff Egypt's plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, rejected by both Israel and the US.
However, without a political horizon for Palestinians we will barely see improvements on the ground. Can Europe promote peace through actionable steps? Ahead of EPICON's launch-event in Berlin in two weeks, read into Jamal Nusseibeh's strong statement.
