90’s Deadhead
@90sdeadhead.bsky.social
Been a Deadhead and a regular concert goer since 1990 till about 2015 when I mostly refuse to pay millionaires hundreds of dollars to watch them perform. I’m not a racist science denying treasonous hateful nazi supporting magat
Pinned
I became a Deadhead about a month after my first Grateful Dead concert which was on May 5, 1990 at Cal State Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles Ca. I then went on to attend many more. And after Jerry Garcia died, I then attend concerts of other old classic rock bands. I saved most ticket stubs. Not all.
Today is the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack at the concert venue Bataclan, in Paris, while the Eagles of Death Metal were playing. 90 concertgoers were shoot down dead. This event shook me. Having believed that a concert venue during a show is the happiest place on earth. Not after this.

Tomorrow is the sad anniversary of a horrific event that happened to happen during a concert.

Many moons back, Mick Jagger posted this photo on the other site when The Rolling Stones played some town. It seems Mick and someone he knows went into a bar for a drink. It’s amazing to me that he was not recognized. Any rock ‘n’ roll fan knows his style and he should’ve been instantly recognizable

I’m to understand that the singer for the greatest rock and roll band to ever play music on this planet, Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant, walks the streets of the places he plays in as well as lives in. Thats pretty cool.

When giants walked the earth. Photo one has the concert promoter Bill Graham and Led Zeppelin’s strong willed manager Peter Grant. Photo two is zeppelin’s singer Robert with Bill, and I don’t know who the other guy is. This had to be at Oakland for a day on the green concert. Imagine being there.

On tomorrows date in 1971, what has to be considered one of the greatest rock and roll albums ever was released. And when people heard Going To California for the first time ever, most of them felt like they have always loved the tune. And that is a sign of a legendary ban. LED ZEPPELIN RULES!!!!

I’m to understand that there was a purple Jerry door somewhere backstage at the Warfield in San Francisco. It was Jerry Garcia’s room when he was playing the venue. The marquee photo was to honor the day Jerry Garcia passed

There is a serious possibility today that the United States government shutdown is not temporary…. By design…… and so is this future.

Was once a diehard OAKLAND Raiders fan. Rich Gannon was my first quarterback. For reasons I can’t recall, I thought this OAKLAND Raiders vs the eagles on Nov3,2013 game was important enough that I took Amtrak from Los Angeles to OAKLAND mainly to attend. We lost (again) and it was still a good time

The first new thing I learned after waking up this today is that Donna Jean Godchaux, the only female to be a band member in the Grateful Dead, has died. 1972-1979 she sang mostly backup on way too many songs while her husband Keith played keyboard. Fav Donna tune is Playing In The Band. YAY Donna

I don’t believe in imaginary sky daddies or imaginary zombies. I do believe this is the closest thing possible to god writing the bible.

The only people who support Nazis (in this case ICE) are other Nazis (in this case Spotify) and it’s known worldwide that nazis pay extremely well (in this case Tesla to Elon)

If the Dodgers do win the World Series, just imagine how much money the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers is going to donate to ICE. He’s gonna take the money he makes off of you from buying Dodger hats/shirts/fingers, you’re expensive seats and you’re over expensive parking, lots going to ice.

I am a deadhead but I’m no sucker. Just bc the Grateful Dead put their name on another product 30 years after the Grateful Dead ended does not mean I’m gonna spend my money on it. Then I saw Grateful Dead rolling papers. I imagined them with the grooviest looking rolling papers. So I am a sucker.

Was inside the Oakland Colosseum Oct 31, 1992 watching the Jerry Garcia Band perform so well, they decided to make it official JGB release. I learned a lot this evening, my buddy brought a fun gi, and I experienced the complete opposite of a Grateful Dead experience. Halloween dark. Tie-dyes bright

Was inside the Universal Amphitheater on Halloween 1989 in the front row center of the balcony watching the Black Crows open to Robert Plant. This was a rocking good time from start to end. This was one of those concert experiences you had to be there to understand how groovy it really was.

Was inside Irvine Meadows on Halloween 1986. Was 16, completely sober, 100% square. When my buddy from Hebrew school and I heard that band that sang the song Weird Science was playing, we wanted to check it out. Oingo Boingo was kind of scary that night, so were the fans. Didn’t 100% dig it.

I was inside the Hollywood bowl on Halloween in 2021. Debt and Company was playing. Ha! No ticket stub or set list, bc I rarely share tribute/cover bands here. Here is my dead and company bootleg cassette collection.
