Windows 11 (2021) retains the same kernel version number, 10.0, as its predecessor, Windows 10 (2015). This marks the 1st time two releases of Windows NT have shared the same version number. Microsoft likely chose to do this to maintain app compatibility between Windows 10 & 11.

I'm going to try to dualboot my Acer Espire E15 with an intel Core i3 7100U with Windows 10 and Windows 7, hopefully everything goes well

On 15th February 1999, fans of Linux - as well as other open source operating systems - gathered at Microsoft’s HQ in Redmond, Washington to demonstrate & seek refunds for the Windows licenses they’d unwillingly acquired with new PCs. The day became known as Windows Refund Day.
