the issue i take with people
saying to "separate art from artist" is that people only say to do so when its convenient for their morals. the logical conclusion of the statement is that the artist that made something is not important to the piece's significance, which i doubt people actually believe

smw has honestly been a giant reference point for me sprite wise, having played a lot of smm and watched quite a few romhack videos, so its cool to at last play some hacks of the game that is kind of this giant *idea* at this point when it comes to platformers

lasso tool art is fun because its a test of your understanding of silhouette and shape appeal. definitely recommend trying it, even if it doesnt fit your usual style

there are people who never start drawing because theyre scared it will look bad, but the thing is that "bad" is just normal. you will always think what you make looks "bad" until the fact that its no longer bad sneaks up on you
