News/Thoughts/Opinions about the San Francisco 49ers.
Week 16 TNF Rams @ Seattle is an incredibly important game for the 49ers.

If the Niners continue winning, and the Seahawks win that game, the Niners control their own destiny for the division and likely the number 1 seed. They take the division by winning out in this scenario.

A really good sunday for the 49ers. With the Rams loss, the division and everything else is right in front of this team.

I believe the 49ers need to keep Jauan Jennings long term if Aiyuk is gone.

Can they make it work with Pearsall and draft picks? I'm sure Kyle can find a way. But Jennings and Pearsall together can be a consistent force for the next few years. Any draft pick hit at that point becomes found money.

Almost every credible insider with the 49ers seems to think Brandon Aiyuk has played his last snap with this team.

The 1 and 2 seed in the NFC are likely to be the Rams and Eagles in some order.

If the niners end up as the 7 seed they'll be facing one of these teams round 1. I know we're a long way off, but if they want to do anything special this year it's going to be important to do better than the 7th seed.

Encouraging win for the niners today. This offense is without a doubt one of the best in the league.

The defense on the other hand, allowed 47 completions by Brissett and nearly 500 yards. Not great.

It's painful to see what this team (defense) has become due to injuries.

This team has a special fight, just not the talent to beat a team like the Rams right now. What could have been 🤷‍♂️

Very interesting to see where Mac Jones ranks when adjusting for things out of his control 👀

The 49ers stand pat at the deadline.

I'm pretty surprised but they must have been scared off by high prices.

Pressure will be on this front office to convert these draft picks into talent in the upcoming draft.

The niners have to be a minimum 8-5 going into the bye. 9-4 would put them in great shape. Anything less should be considered a failure.

That was the 49ers first win of the year dictating the game. They ran the ball, they stopped the run. Thats the Shanahan identity and it finally showed up.

John Lynch mentioned on KNBR that Aiyuk is "getting closer" to a return.

A bit more encouraging language from him, as opposed to a few weeks ago whe he said he wasn't close.

This to me is a really instructive graphic on how the 49ers offense has been. They get plenty of first downs but score TD's at a lower rate than the Jets. They're also turning the ball over way too much.

Just about every good vibe and feeling the 49ers had built coming into this game have been erased. An absolute gut punch of a football game.

Kyle Shanahan told Matt Maiocco Stafford and Mayfield are the best 2 QB's on the 49ers schedule. Likely remaining QB's after week 6:

7. Penix
8. Stroud
9. Dart
10. Stafford
11. Murray
12. B. Young
13. Gabriel
15. Ward
16. D. Jones
17. C. Williams
18. Darnold

We've got a new top seed in the NFC through 5 weeks +

Bosa news it obviously devastating. I wouldn't expect any major move or trade though. This team has been in cost cutting mode for awhile. They'll lean on the depth of YGM Huff Sam O etc.

LG Connor Colby has a groin injury, according to Kyle Shanahan. He'll miss a few weeks.

A big blow to the offensive line that was already thin at Guard. The rookie Colby looked promising in his short playing time.

Dre Greenlaw was ruled out for the Broncos for week 3. He has yet to appear in a game for them.

It's still early, but it appears the Niners were correct in going with Dee Winters over Greenlaw.

Underlying numbers for McCaffrey on the ground are not good.

He's been invaluable in the passing game, but if he can get back to form on the ground, it will take this offense to another level.
Rushing yards over expected versus consistency

This seems like an important development in BA's recovery.

Even if he misses a month or so, it's imperative he can play at a level he was at previously. News like this is encouraging that he can.

$5M is definitely alot for a back up running back but Mason was really good. Vikings in spend money mode, #49ers are in a different mode.

$5.35M for Mason seems rich given the tenor of things the past 24 hours. I assume there's a decent chance he's moved for a lesser pick.
The 49ers are placing a second-round tender on restricted free agent RB Jordan Mason, per source. If no team signs him, Mason would get $5.35M in 2025. If a team does sign him, the 49ers would get a second-round pick. @AdamSchefter on it first
