Today at MSP Airport, Second Harvest Heartland partnered with the Sanneh Foundation and the Metropolitan Airports Commission to provide emergency food boxes for federal employees impacted by the government shutdown.

This summer, St. Peter Area Food Shelf welcomed Rebeca and Stella, students from nearby Gustavus Adolphus College as summer interns putting their classroom teachings into action to help fight hunger in their community.

🍗 Meat and other protein: At the MN State Fair, you’ll find everything from pork to alligator on a stick! Our neighbors can pick up proteins like eggs & meat at partner food shelves. Chicken is popular & we provide ~200K lbs monthly!

🥔 Potatoes: French fry stands at the Minnesota State Fair serve around 400,000 pounds of potatoes each year. Potatoes are a staple at Second Harvest Heartland food shelves, too—we provide 400,000 pounds of potatoes -EVERY SINGLE MONTH. That's a lot of tators!

450,000 is a big number. It’s the attendance at the @mnstatefair’s final weekend. Unfortunately, it’s also the number of Minnesotans impacted by recent cuts to SNAP.
