Lisbon, Portugal - Rain Pause
Unlike past years where Daryl's B-Day involved trips to Naples or Paris, we spent a wonderful afternoon in Lisbon at Canalha (1 & 2) with carpaccio and shrimp 'tortilha.' Then, we renewed our love of Portugal w Pasteis de Belem. Stunning Japanese at Izakaya Cascais ended our day. #lisbon #portugal

On our last trip to NYC we had a great food day in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. We enjoyed pastries from Radio Bakery (1) a katsu sando from Taku Sando (2). Filter coffee along and a maple pecan bourbon pain Suisse at Paloma Coffee & Bakery and a fine smash patty burger from Gotham Burger Social Club.

One of the advantages of living in Iberia is the availability of good tomatoes most of the year. How could we resist plating up a bunch of #cherokeetomatoes dressed simply with salt, evoo and oregano. Place a burrata in the center of the plate with torn basil and you have a lunch party.

While not as famous or as grandiose as the version made famous in Kyoto, our favorite local ramen joint makes Omurice with ketchup pork fried rice topped by a simple omelette. It all makes for a wonderfully comforting November lunch.
