Turing my first pen video. I went with Purple Heart, because I had some on hand. It does have a nice "antique" appearance.
These are cheap pen kits I grabbed off Amazon, and I'm really not a fan. They're much too thin and small. But they were cheap, so good for practice.

I've been practicing hand sharpening my traditional tools, because with carbide tools available I can't justify dropping hundreds on a tormex or the like. I nailed it with this roughing gouge! It's going through hard maple like butter!
